Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress conservatively.
8 am
Los Angeles Food Bank:
We will be sorting, shelving, and stacking food donations for agencies that combat hunger all over Los Angeles.
Definitely a hands-on event!
Plan to get your hands dirty to fight hunger.
Franklin Canyon Park Conservation:
Anyone have a green thumb?
Check out this event, whether or not you've ever planted a seed in your life.
We will be maintaining a trail, conserving wildlife and endangered plants, and planting new ones as well, all in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Please bring work gloves if you own any.
Refurbishing Wheelchairs:
We've all heard about the third-world countries that are in need of aid, but not all of us have had the opportunity to help them out first-hand.
With this event, you'll be able to actively help the cause.
We will be assembling and refurbishing used wheelchairs for those in developing countries who would otherwise be immobilized.
This is the first philanthropy event of the spring semester and biggest the service event during rush!
We will be giving 40 inner-city students from Villa Esperanza and IMPACTO a unique learning experience to encourage an early interest in science.
We will be doing a scavenger hunt at the National History Museum and conducting a Science Olympiad in Expo Park!
Lunch is included and possibly limited breakfast as well.

Service Day
If you choose to attend this event, you can participate in either the A or B activity, but not both. Please note the different times.
4.30 pm
A :: Meal Service @ Union Rescue Mission:
A classic service event for Alpha Phi Omega.
We will first help prepare dinner for the families and individuals at this rescue shelter.
More importantly, we have been given the opportunity to actually serve this meal to those at the shelter—providing us with the chance to directly interact with the less-advantaged.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress conservatively.
5.30 pm
B :: Fun + Crafts @ Midnight Mission:
Every Tuesday, the adults at this transitional living house attend workshops and counseling sessions.
Take your time to read, play, and have fun with their children this evening.
The children at Midnight Mission consider volunteers the highlight of their day; let it be your highlight as well.
Learn about Alpha Phi Omega and what we're about! We'll talk about rush requirements, the pledge program, and what active membership is like. It's also a great opportunity to meet several actives! You must attend one of the three info sessions.

Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress conservatively.
7 pm
B :: Lifting Teen Spirits @ Angel's Flight:
Angel's Flight offers refuge to runaway teens, most from abusive homes.
For those of us with the good fortune to be raised by loving family, come play with, engage, and most importantly, have fun with these teens.
