About Alpha Phi Omega
Why Alpha Phi Omega?
College should be more than the acquisition of facts and figures; it also should broaden your experiences, expand and test your inherent abilities, and sharpen your social skills.
Alpha Phi Omega, through its unique program of Leadership, Friendship, and Service, can add this necessary but often lacking aspect of college life, and at the same time enable you to help others while helping yourself. About Rush
Interested in Alpha Phi Omega? We invite you to participate in our Spring 2012 rush to learn more.
Rush is an informational period where you can evaluate if Alpha Phi Omega is right for you. It also allows members of Alpha Phi Omega to learn more about potential pledges. Rush is both fun and informative. Those who rush are not obligated to join Alpha Phi Omega.
To get started, attend an information session. It will provide a quick overview about our chapter and our Fraternity. For more hands-on experience, rushees are expected to attend four main rush events. Those who attend the necessary events will be invited to the three mandatory events later in the semester. Those who satisfactorily complete the rush requirements will be extended an offer to pledge Alpha Phi Omega.
More Information
Alpha Phi Omega (ΑΦΩ, commonly abbreviated APO) is a national coeducational service fraternity founded on the cardinal principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service. The basis of the Fraternity's brotherhood comes from a foundation of shared beliefs, experiences, and an understanding of our fraternal history and goals.
Service is the backbone of Alpha Phi Omega. Everyone who joins Alpha Phi Omega is committed to service and wants to provide service to a variety of people. We are looking for a group of pledges who are similarly dedicated to helping our campus, our community, our fraternity, and our nation.
Alpha Phi Omega has more than 21,000 male and female student members on over 375 college campuses nationwide. More than 375,000 members have joined Alpha Phi Omega since its founding at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1925.
The Mission of the Fraternity is to prepare campus and community leaders through service. The Purpose of the Fraternity is:
To assemble college students in a National Service Fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and Scout Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop Leadership, to promote Friendship, and to provide Service to humanity; and to further the freedom that is our national, educational, and intellectual heritage.
